Marcio Araujo Lage
Mr. Lage received a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from the Rio de Janeiro State University Law School in 1971. He graduated in 1974 from the Brazilian Foreign Service Academy (Rio-Branco Institute) and has been a career diplomat ever since. During his career, he completed all internal courses required for a Brazilian Diplomat. Mr. Lage was Ambassador of Brazil in Windhoek, Namibia and in Gaborone, Botswana. Prior to this, he was Consul General of Brazil in Mexico City, Mexico. During his career, he served at the Brazilian Embassies in Buenos Aires, Canberra, Washington and Quito. He was Deputy Consul General of Brazil in New York and Minister Counsellor at the Brazilian Embassy in Asunción, Paraguay. In Brazil, he was Head of the Corrections Internal Affairs Office of the Ministry of External Relations, Head of the Divisions of Immigration and Head of the International Agreements. He was a Political Advisor in the Office of the Secretary General of External Relations and worked twice in the Presidency Protocol Office. Mr. Lage has vast experience in his field and has participated in numerous bilateral and multilateral international conferences. He has received many national and foreign decorations and medals.
